The 5 Best Places to Buy PC Parts | The Only Guide You Need

motherboard

The first step to building a good gaming PC is buying the right components. We’ve all been there before as customers when you have to purchase new PC parts.

The challenge is knowing what website to go to, what parts are best, and most importantly, where is the cheapest place to buy them.

As a result, I created a list of the 5 best stores where you can find the PC parts of your choice and, at the same time, save some of your budget. They are all very reliable and have a great diversity but they come with some disadvantages, too.

The 5 best stores to buy PC parts are:

Newegg

Newegg has been around since 2000 and has established itself as one of the best retailers of PC components. They constantly have discounts on many different products.

For instance, you can find a great graphics card, and then combine it with a high-end processor that has a discount. They ship worldwide and some of their items have free shipping.

The best thing is their promotions page where you can find crazy deals and coupons.

Additionally, you can make a payment in installments if you wish. This is a really nice feature that not every store has. The only negative, in my opinion, is their customer support.

It’s not bad by any means, but it’s not great either. Overall, Newegg is an excellent platform to find any hardware at an affordable price.

Pros

  • Worldwide shipping
  • Free Shipping for some purchases
  • A large variety of products
  • Coupons and deals

Cons

  • Below-average Customer Service

Amazon

No introductions are needed when it comes to Amazon. It’s probably the number one destination for everything you’re searching for. Just like Newegg, Amazon has pretty much everything related to computer hardware.

They don’t offer as many discounts, but their prices are pretty affordable. They have a wide variety of refurbished products in their Amazon Renewed shop, too.

The good thing about Amazon is that they give you an A-Z Guarantee which pretty much protects you when purchasing from 3rd party sellers. In addition, they ship worldwide and offer free shipping on orders of $25+ or to Amazon Prime members.

Their sellers can be the main negative for Amazon and other platforms like it. Some of them are not very reliable, so make sure you shop carefully. A second drawback is that they don’t support PayPal payments.

As you might know, PayPal has its own insurance. For instance, if somebody scams you and the retailer doesn’t offer you much assistance, you can request a refund from PayPal and most of the time they will deliver.

Pros

  • Worldwide Shipping
  • A-Z Guarantee
  • Wide variety of computer hardware
  • Free shipping on eligible orders
  • God-Tier customer service

Cons

  • PayPal is not supported
  • Some sellers might be unreliable

eBay

eBay is the kingdom of refurbished and second-hand products, but this doesn’t mean that you can’t find brand-new products from their top-rated sellers.

They may possibly have the biggest variety of computer hardware. They are moderately priced, and their overall quality is slightly lower (the number of refurbished items plays a big part in this).

eBay has its own guarantee (eBay Money Back Guarantee), so you can rest assured that if you’re not satisfied with your item, you can get your money back. Furthermore, they give you international shipping but their speed varies based on the merchant.

From personal experience, I would advise you to mostly try and buy from their Top Rated Sellers since they are trustworthy and ship much faster.

Pros

  • Cheap products
  • A lot of options between new, refurbished, and pre-owned products
  • Money Back Guarantee
  • International shipping

Cons

  • Shipping varies per merchant
  • Lower quality items
  • Some sellers might be unreliable

TigerDirect

Although I didn’t know this store existed, TigerDirect has actually been around since 1985. It’s obviously very reputable and has tons of PCs, hardware, TVs, and more. Compared to the other stores on this list, it doesn’t look that great, but it certainly gets the job done.

As for their pricing, they’re not the cheapest, but I would definitely keep an eye out for their Daily Deals.

Finally, they offer international and free shipping, with the latter being on specific products. The negatives I have spotted are their slow shipping and that sometimes their items are not exactly as advertised.

With all that in mind, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by buying from them, so, take a look at their computer hardware deals and if you find something you like, go for it.

Pros

  • Free shipping
  • Vast variety
  • Worldwide shipping

Cons

  • Slow shipping
  • Some products are not as advertised
  • Slightly more expensive

BestBuy

Best Buy is one of the biggest consumer electronics retailers in the world. When it comes to PC parts, they have a decent collection of all the trending hardware, but I have to admit that they’re not the best place to find some older ones.

Their prices are average, even though you can find some good deals to save some extra cash.

As for their shipping, they only ship in the United States and a lot of their products include free shipping. Overall, I wouldn’t suggest this store to people outside the US as it’ll get complicated and more expensive to ship products to your country.

Pros

  • Free shipping
  • Affordable prices
  • High-quality products

Cons

  • Shipping only in the US
  • Mostly have the trending hardware

Conclusion

The list above doesn’t have every possible website or location you could buy parts from. In fact, there might be many great websites out there of which I made no mention.

But hopefully, this guide has given you a better idea of where you can begin your journey towards putting together your PC, and how to get there efficiently.

All the stores above have countless deals which can save you a lot of money. My personal favorite is Amazon just because their customer service and reliability are on different levels.
